Mundane Morsel

Sometimes life is just daily

Where on earth have I been?

I could make up excuses.

Perfectly believable ones too.

But the true truth is that this whole making food, taking a picture of food with a camera that's never nearby, checking to make sure I captured an appetizing image of food, eating food to decide if it's worthy of sharing, uploading pictures of food from camera into Lightroom, editing my thumb out of pictures of food, uploading pictures of thumb free food from Lightroom into Squarespace, making up a recipe for food that (I hope) approximates what I actually did to create food, attributing pithy words to food, ensuring that I've toggled the switch to push food to two platforms I haven't used in a year, and then publishing a post about food I made and ate weeks ago?

Well, it feels tedious and disingenuous and like something I don't much want to do.

What I do want to do is continue to share things about life that I find funny, yummy, or evocative in some way.

But I want to do it in real time. And with a camera that I always have with me. And with words that are on the tip of my tongue.

Now that even my father is on Instagram, I'm moving Mundane Morsel there.

 Hi Dad!

I'll return to posting once a day. Might be food. Might be wine. Might be a guy dressed as an empanada.

If I post about food I've made and you want the recipe? Comment on the post that you want the recipe and you'll get it. How or where I haven't yet worked out.

But this is good though, right?

I know I feel better already.

Hope you'll join me.
